I am a psychotherapist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. I am a graduated psychologist from the Faculty of Psychology from the University of Buenos Aires- Argentina and a clinical social worker. I studied at New York University- NYC and obtained my clinical license years later as well as my R privilege.
Being a psychology student, I collaborated in the Department of Immunology at the Durand hospital in Buenos Aires providing treatment to patients (under supervision) with autoimmune diseases and researching about psychosomatic symptoms.
After becoming a psychologist, I provided clinical services at the Admission Department of Braulio Moyano Psychiatric Hospital. This experience helped me to deeply learn about schizophrenia, bipolar disorders and the importance of family and social support in psychosis.
After migrating to NYC, I began to work with immigrants of different parts of the world which helped me to have a better understanding of what immigration might mean to different people and the process of loss, adjustment and acculturation that implies to all immigrants.
I have worked in different clinical settings along the years as well as different populations, diagnoses and ages. I have worked with families helping them to deal with deportation threats, family dynamic issues as well as chronic illnesses and social adjustments. I also increased my interest in treating conventional and non-conventional couples helping them with their struggles in sexual issues, infidelity, jealousy, communication difficulties just to mentioned some issues.
I have experience working with children in play therapy and teenagers with different emotional issues and symptoms. Sessions with parents and parenting guidance in emotional, behavioral and academic difficulties have shown to be an effective tool in working with young people and their families.
I enjoy working with different communities in Spanish and English (immigrants, LGBTQ, unconventional couples, people with chronic diseases for instance) as well as helping my patients to reach their full potential in life and follow their own definition of personal success.
My professional and personal development as an analyst in formation taught me to be more assertive and efficient in helping patients with very disturbing issues and others more functional as lack of confidence and self- esteem, work related issues, stress at work or school, vocational orientation, decision making, social skills, family problems and dating among many others. I am in constant training with different institutions and belong to the American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work.
I am in network with a few health insurances. If I am not a provider for your insurance, my fee or part of it might be covered if your plan has out of network benefits. I offer sliding scale fees for those who qualify due life circumstances.
I offer tele-therapy and phone sessions for specific cases.
Please contact me by email or phone to know more about it. ( 917 ) 370 3474
